Saved by Miko Plaster

The grounded asphalt tanker "Asphalt Navigator" was carrying asphalt when she grounded off the coast of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

There was a significant risk of pollution. Miko Marine AS has developed technology for sealing off openings in ship hulls in order to stop leakages.

Approximately 60 square meters of Miko Plaster was installed prior to allowing the ship to cross the Atlantic. The towage lasting more than three weeks was completed successfully as the ship was docked in Greece, where she was repaired permanently.
